- On 7 May 2025, after the Indian military conducted missile strikes on terrorist bases in Pakistan under the codename Operation Sindoor, Sophia Qureshi was chosen by the Indian Army and the Ministry of Defence (MOD) to provide a press debriefing on the operation conducted by the armed forces.
- During the Operation Parakram on the Punjab border, she rendered her service selflessly for which she was awarded a commendation card by the GOC- in- C (General Officer Commanding in Chief).
- During the flood relief operation in North East, her commendable work in communication got her an SO- in- C (Signal Officer in Chief) commendation card.
- She passed out to join the Army as a Lieutenant from Officers Training Academy, Chennai in the year 1999.
